Of Christ

“For, “Who can know the Lord’s thoughts?
Who knows enough to teach him?” But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ 1Cor.2:16 [emphasis added]

Your mind is an amazing creation of God. It handles billions of bits of information. It can process eight hundred memories per second for years and never get tired. No computer will ever compare with the computing power of the brain. And the Bible says as a man thinks in his heart so is he. You are what you think. More than anything else what determines your life are your thoughts; not your background, not your genes, and not your environment. What you choose to think about has greater influence on your life than anything else. Think about that!

As a man thinks in his heart so is he. If you are serious about changing something in your life, whatever area it is, you have to start by changing the way you think. As the year winds down and we look forward to the oncoming year expectantly, we are going to be learning how to think clearly about our lives now and our future. As Christians, sometimes we forget that God has blessed us with the capacity to think. God wants us to pray, but God wants us to think and think clearly.

Thinking is one aspect of life that people do not attribute to Christianity. And it is a lie because some of the greatest thinkers in history were Christians. In fact the greatest institutions of learning were  started by the Christians, and the list runs from Harvard, to Yale, to Cambridge. All those institutions were  started by Christian thinkers and Christians that think very clearly. Unfortunately, because of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and we kind of think that the Holy Spirit has come to nullify our thinking.

But the converse is the case; the Holy Spirit has come to activate our thinking and to raise it to a higher level. The human mind is so powerful that the people categorized as geniuses, the best thinkers of men, use about ten percent of the mind. Some of us are using two percent or less. God wants our minds to be activated. It is not by chance that the Word of God says we have the mind of Christ; we have the thinking of God. So embrace the truth which  is that your mind is very, very powerful.

Prayer [song]: I’ve got the Life of God in me (2x). I’ve got the Spirit of the Son of God. I’ve got the Life of God in me. I’ve got the [mind] of God in me (2x). I’ve got the Spirit of the Son of God. I’ve got the [mind] of God in me. Amen!
