The Blessing
Gen.22:17 “I will certainly bless you. I will multiply your descendants beyond number, like the stars in the sky and the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will conquer the cities of their enemies.”
A change of name is a change of identity. Your name follows you wherever you go. You cannot shake it off. God said to Jacob, “Your name is your problem. I need to give you a new name”[paraphrased]. God is going to give you a new name this season. For some, it is physical and for others it is spiritual. If your name is detrimental to your greatness change it, because your name is your identity. You cannot rise above your name. As your name is, so you will be. It is your spiritual and your prophetic destiny. “And His name shall be called Jesus for He will save the people from their sin”. If God is going to change your destiny for good, it will start with your name because that is your source. Beginning from today, you will wrestle with man and with God and you will prevail. God will change your name and your destiny for good. Why was Esau trying to kill Jacob?
It all started when Jacob received the blessing from Isaac [his father], the blessing Esau felt was his own. Esau felt cheated, he felt that Jacob stole his blessing and he became very angry. He knows that a man cannot go further than his blessing. This was the blessing Isaac gave Jacob, Gen.27:28 “From the dew of heaven and the richness of the earth, may God always give you abundant harvests of grain and bountiful new wine. 29 May many nations become your servants, and may they bow down to you. May you be the master over your brothers, and may your mother’s sons bow down to you. All who curse you will be cursed, and all who bless you will be blessed.” 30 As soon as Isaac had finished blessing Jacob, and almost before Jacob had left his father, Esau returned from his hunt.”
I pray that you will not miss your blessing. May your legs not carry you out when your blessing is about to be released.
For God to change a destiny, He releases a three-fold blessing embedded in the blessing of Isaac to Jacob. In Christ, we have access to these blessings because it is the blessing of Abraham that is being passed down.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, I connect to the blessings of Abraham in Christ Jesus and I declare that I will not miss my blessings from the Lord, in Jesus Name. Amen!
