Friend of God!

John 15:15 I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me”

Yesterday we began to talk about the orphan mentality and how it is possible for children of God to struggle with the orphan mentality even in the Presence of their Father. We will continue to identify pointers to the orphan mentality so that we can deal with it conclusively.

  1. An orphan is always fighting for his or her rights. When you see someone that is always fighting for his or her rights even if there is nothing to fight for, it is an indication of an orphan mentality. If you are struggling with this, deal with it.
  2. An orphan is always fearfully expecting God’s wrath. When people with the orphan mentality live a holy life, they do so because they believe that God will strike them if they sin. Someone that has a son mentality on the other hand, lives a holy life because he loves his Father and because he knows his Father loves him. The son will live a holy life because he does not want to do anything to offend his Father. The people with the orphan mentality see God as the sadist that is waiting for them to make a mistake so He can strike them dead.

The danger here is that because he is human, the person with the orphan mentality eventually sins and he will be expecting punishment. And when the anticipated punishment does not happen, he becomes emboldened to sin again and again. This is the reason why some people are slaves to sin today. I pray you will take steps to be free from it today, in Jesus Mighty Name.

  1. The people with the orphan mentality always feel like they are on the outside looking in. They always feel that everyone else is more privileged, even in relationship with God. Such people always feel they need a prophet to help them pray otherwise God will not hear them. Jesus died so that YOU can come before God. The only mediator you need is Jesus and when you approach the Father in Jesus’ Name, you will be welcome. Jesus died so that you can come to the Father.

Prayer [song] Father, we have confidence by the Blood of Jesus, to come into the place where You are (2x). By the New and Living Way, we enter into the Holy Place. We come to worship You with all our hearts (2x). Amen!
