Ex.17: ⁸ While the Israelites were camped at Rephidim, soldiers of Amalek came and attacked them” [with emphasis]

The first thing that stands out in the story of the children of Israel from Exodus 17:8-13 [please read], is that the Power to Prevail is released when You Become. The Israelites were God’s people; they had the seed of God in them. 1Jn.5:⁴ “for everyone born of God overcomes the world…” [NIV]. The power to prevail is released when the seed of God is formed in you. The power to prevail is released when you become a child of God. You cannot prevail against the world except you are born of God.

Only those that are born of God can overcome the world. Unfortunately, some people believe that if you cannot beat them, join them. But that is not our reality in God. You will prevail because what it takes to overcome the world is in you. If you are God’s child, you carry His seed. If you are not a child of God, my prayer is that you will make Jesus your Lord today and that seed of God will be deposited in you – so you do not cave in to the world, you do not bow to the world, you do not blend and align with the world.  Rather, you prevail over their antics.

Jn.4:⁴ “But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people [you have overcome them; …prevailed over them], because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world” [with emphasis]. The victory that God has planned for you is not over yet. There is a spirit, believe it or not, that engineers every opposition a child of God faces in life. But the Spirit that lives in you is greater than the spirit that lives in the world. For instance, you go for an interview and you have to sit in front of top officials. If they are not saved, there is a spirit in them. God is saying to you that the spirit in you is greater than the spirit in them. So you have already overcome. A baby monkey for instance, cannot grow up to become a lion regardless of how many vitamins it takes. For you to prevail, you have to become and that is how the spiritual works. You have to be born into that family of God for you to become and overcome.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I declare that You alone are Lord over my life and because God is my Father and I carry His Spirit, I have overcome, in Jesus Name. Amen!
