Open The Door

Psalm 34:4 “I prayed to the Lord and He answered me; He freed me from all my fears.” [GN, with emphasis]

I pray that in God’s Presence today, the Lord Himself will free you from all your fears, in Jesus Name. David did not say that God delivered him from a few of his fears or from his major fears and left out the minor ones. David said that God delivered him from all his fears. I am praying again that God will free us from all our fears, in Jesus Name.

Fear does a lot of damage. The first major damage is – Fear Paralyzes Potential. Fear, when we give in to it, has the power to limit our effectiveness. Fear causes us to miss opportunities. When God gives us opportunities, He expects us to exploit them. But fear is an enemy of exploitation and so fear causes us to miss such opportunities. God has put in all of us a huge reservoir of potentials. One major reason people do not achieve their potential and fulfill their destiny is fear. Fear is the reason why a lot of people do not do what God has told them to do. Fear is the reason why a lot of people do not make the moves God instructs them to make. Fear cripples a lot of God’s children. Again, I am praying that God will set you free from fear, in Jesus Name.

Paul Tournier says, “All of us have reservoirs of full potential, vast areas of great satisfaction, but the road that leads to those reservoirs are guarded by the dragon of fear.” So many people live mediocre lives because of this “dragon”. But we will cut off the head of that dragon, in Jesus Name. Many times, the fear we struggle with is self-contrived. In other words, we ourselves are the architects of the fear in our lives. John 20:19 [The disciples] “… were together with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish authorities”  [with emphasis]. Then Jesus came and spoke peace to them.

Take note that the door was locked but not by the Jewish authorities. The disciples actually locked themselves in. Fear sometimes results in self-imprisonment. God wants you to set yourself free. Open the door because Jesus has walked in and Jesus is with you. Open the door and try again; try to love again, try to trust again. Just open the door.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, as You did it for David, deliver me from all my fears, in Jesus Name. Let Your love flood my heart and my life, in Jesus Name. Amen!
