Banish Fear!

1 John 4:18 “Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear…” [with emphasis]

God is going to open doors before us in this season [say amen]. And God expects us to exploit every one of those openings. However, one of the greatest enemies of exploitation is fear. God is set to deal conclusively with fear in our lives in this season; so, please open your heart to God. God, our Father, has only one remedy for fear and that is to cast it out [banish it]. God says that there is no fear in love but perfect love casts out fear [banishes fear]. There is no fear in love. In other words, love and fear cannot cohabit, you know. Most people think it is all right to be fearful.

Everybody experiences fear but we are going to learn how to deal with fear and by God’s grace banish fear from our lives totally. Sociologists have termed the age we are in as the age of anxiety. A lot of people are laden with fear. The story is told of a little boy that wanted to find out what his father was afraid of. So he asked, “Dad, do you fear armed robbers?” And the father said, “no”. “Do you fear cockroaches, spiders, or the police?” And for every thing the boy mentioned, the father’s response was no. Finally the boy said,  “I guess it is only mum you are afraid of”. Everybody is afraid of something.

Research was conducted on five hundred people and on the average, each one of them had fourteen distinct fears. If we were to do a scan on you, how many fears would show up? It may be high right now but by the time this season is over, it would be close to zero, in Jesus Name. Twenty years ago, a research was conducted on elementary school children and they discovered five major fears. The fears consisted of the fear of animals, the fear of dark rooms, the fear of strangers, the fear of heights and the fear of loud noises. That sounds like what children would be afraid of, right? Today, the same study shows that their fears have shifted to parents divorcing, nuclear war, getting cancer, environmental pollution and sexual molestation. How we have gone far from being innocent.

God’s heart for us is that we would all be fearless because His love casts out fear.

Prayer: Father, please give me the power to understand how wide, how long, how high, and how deep God’s love is for me, in Jesus Name. Amen!
