Hiding Place

Isa. 51:12 “The Lord says, `I am the one who strengthens you. Why should you fear mortal man who is no more enduring than grass?'” [GN, with emphasis].

The first step in overcoming the fear of rejection is to put God in first place. The second step is to Put people in their place. Everyone in your life has a place. The key to peace of mind is to put people in their proper place. If you want to create confusion for your life, put your wife in your mother’s place or vice versa. You need to stop and realize that everybody has their place and then put everyone in their proper place.

The interesting thing is that the people in your life do not only have their places, they have their opinions as well. You need to realize and accept that everybody is actually entitled to an opinion. If some calls you a fool, it is just an opinion so stop getting angry. The person has not insulted you, that is just the person’s opinion because he actually thinks that you are a fool. Should you get angry? Nope! You get angry if you think the person is right.

Picture this, you went through school, studied for each exam and passed. Moved on to do your masters and doctorate. How should you respond to someone calling you dull? You just laugh because that person’s opinion does not change anything. It is just his or her opinion. The only reason someone calling you a fool would make you angry is if deep down you believe he or she might actually be right. Do not get me wrong, just learn what I am teaching you and put such people where their opinion is.

In fact, I thrive on the fact that people underestimate me academically, spiritually, financially, etcetera. By the time what is inside flows out, they are shocked. The point is you do not need to prove anything to anyone. You are who God says you are, rest in that and put everyone else in his or her place. When people’s approval becomes all-important in your life, you are setting yourself up to be afraid. For some people all that matters is popularity, applause, and a celebrity status. That is setting yourself up for a snare because you will be at the mercy of what people say about you. But you do not have to live like that!

Thought: Prov.30:26 “The conies are but a feeble folk, yet make they their houses in the rocks

Prayer [song]: [Jesus] That Rock that never fails. Let me hide in You, let me hide in You, in You there is power [freedom, safety, healing, shelter]. Amen!
