The Lord’s Side

2 Kings 6: 16 “Don’t be afraid!” Elisha told him. “For there are more on our side than on theirs!” 17 Then Elisha prayed, “O Lord, open his eyes and let him see…” [with emphasis]

You are not alone. There is much more to you than meets the ordinary eye and you need to begin to walk in this consciousness. David looked at Goliath and said, you are coming to me with spear and sword. You do not even know anything. The people that are behind me are the Host of Heaven. I have come to you in the Name of the Lord of Hosts, whose army you have defied. In other words, David was saying – there are three armies in this battle. There are the philistine armies of which Goliath is their champion and he is standing in the valley. There are the armies of Israel of which Saul is their champion and he is hiding in the tent. I, David have come to represent the armies of heaven and I am going to cut your head.

David was representing the invisible armies and they are innumerable. When Jesus appeared to Joshua [please read Joshua 5], Joshua asked, “Are you for us or are you against us?” Joshua was aware that there were activities going on that the ordinary eye could see. And the Lord said, “Neither, I am neither for you nor for your enemies. I have come as the Captain of the Host of Heaven.” When you read that scripture, you would think that Jesus would say I am on your side, right? But He said, “I have my own agenda”, in other words Joshua, whose side are you on? Are you on the Lord’s side?

In life we struggle so much to bring God into our situation, to get God on our side. It is a lot of wasted effort. If only you can be on God’s side then your battles become His battles. And then your enemies become His enemies but you become unstoppable. Everyone that walks in the miraculous must be aware of the supernatural forces. Jesus was aware. At Gethsemane when Peter drew his sword, Jesus said, “I could easily command a legion of angels”. In other words, “I am not being captured because I lack resources. I am being captured because it is the will of the Father. Nobody can take my life, I lay it down and I take it up again”, Jesus said. Everyone that walks in the supernatural is aware of the presence of unseen forces.

Prayer: Holy Spirit, please give me a deeper awareness of the supernatural and help me consistently operate from God’s side, in Jesus Name. Amen!
