The Workings I
Eccl.11:1 “Don’t be afraid to release your bread upon the waters, for in due time you will find it…4 Those who watch and wait for favorable winds never plant, and those who watch and fret over every cloud never harvest” [Voice].
Years ago I was on a project for a year and a half and I was tired of the project. I wanted to go back to Lagos. So I got the permission to go back. Then I realized that while I was working on the project, I had a free house, car with a driver attached but back home, I did not have a car. So I had a pressing need. I needed a miracle. I had put money aside to buy a big screen television because I like media. Then it occurred to me that even though I would like to have a television, I actually needed a car.
One of the greatest discoveries you can make in life, is to separate what you like from what you need. Being unable to make that separation is the fastest route to poverty. Separate what you like from what you need. So I took the money for the television, which was not enough to buy a car, and I sowed it. I said to God that this is my seed for my car. A lot of people would buy the television and then start troubling heaven for a car. Locate the seed!
Then the company began to give car loans and I rejoiced because I was so sure it had to do with my seed. Guess what? They gave everyone that applied and just as it was going to be my turn, they stopped giving car loans. I had just started operating this principle so I really did not understand how it works. So I went to God and He made me understand that the seed, soil, condition is my side of the equation, while the harvest is His side of the equation. It would be crazy to try to do God’s side of the equation. So stay on your side of the equation and do not try to play God.
You have sown your seed and that is your part. Let God be God. I came back to Lagos with a new car, fully paid and I did not take a loan.
God showed me what I am showing you today; your job is the first side of the equation. God’s job is the second half of the equation. How God’s side comes into play is none of your business. Earlier in my walk with God, I spent a lot of time trying to figure out how the harvest will come. But God always showed up in ways I never imagined. God’s ways are not your ways neither are His thoughts your thoughts. So let God be God.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, help me to pay the price that is required, in Jesus Name. Amen!
