Open or Closed ?
Prov.11:24 “There is one who scatters, yet increases more; And there is one who withholds more than is right, but it leads to poverty” (NKJV).
God wants to release something to you and He is waiting for you to let go of what is in your hands. For some of us, what God has asked us to let go of is a bad habit. Substance abuse can kill you or affect your mental state negatively. Let it go! Remember, God is not just asking you to let it go and have nothing. He is saying let it go because He wants to release something into your hands. When you are holding on to something else, your hands are not free to receive anything. The hand that is holding on to something, is a closed fist; the hand that is receiving, is an open fist.
Matt.10:39 “To find your life, you must lose your life—and whoever loses his life for My sake will find it” [VOICE]. For some of us, it is our lives that we are holding onto so tightly. God is saying, “Let it go so that you can see all that I have for you”. Sometimes what you need to let go of is a particular lifestyle. And sometimes it could even be a miracle God has done yesterday. God wants to do a new thing but you are holding on to what He did yesterday. A lot of the time what keeps us from today’s miracle is yesterday’s miracles. Are you going to hold on to it or are you going to allow God to be God?
A lot of us have routines we go through in our daily lives. Routines are fine; in fact sometimes routines can save your life. But sometimes God wants to change your routine; will you allow Him to change your routine? With Spiritual growth for instance, you cannot grow spiritually without routine. You have to read your Bible and pray everyday, like the popular Sunday school song most of us are familiar with. In God’s Favourite House, we teach routines to grow spiritually. But once the routine becomes a routine then you have to change the routine.
In working out, your instructor will establish certain routines to work on certain areas of your body. But as time passes and your body adjusts to those routines, the instructor will have to change them to achieve results in other parts of your body. You must be flexible.
Prayer: Father Lord, today as I let go of what is in my hands, let it please You to bring me into the fullness of what You have prepared for me, in Jesus Name. Amen!
