Initiate

Num.25:7 “…Phinehas thrust the spear all the way through the man’s body and into the woman’s stomach. So the plague against the Israelites was stopped… 10 Then the Lord said to Moses… 12 Now tell him that I am making my special covenant of peace with him”

King Jehoash came to Elisha seeking a solution and as part of the solution, Elisha told him to strike the ground with arrows [please read 2 kings 13:14-19]. Jehoash struck the ground three times and stopped. Although Elisha did not tell him how many times to strike, Elisha was still angry with him because he should have used his initiative to strike five or seven times. God sometimes wants you to use your brain. Remember I told you that there is nothing wrong with your brain. Sometimes God expects you to use your initiative.

Joshua was in the middle of a battle [Judges 10:12-13, please read] and the Bible says the sun was setting. Joshua looked at the sun and commanded it to stand still until he has finished his business. Now imagine the size of the sun compared to the earth and then picture Joshua that probably looks like a speck beside the sun commanding the sun. The Bible records that up until that time that was written, there has not been a time like that when God harkened to the voice of a man. I said to the Lord, “You are going to add my own story”. I pray that your own story will be added also because beginning from today you will be commanding things to stand still and they will be obeying you, in Jesus Name.

Kenneth Hagin wrote about an experience he had in one of his books. He said Jesus came to him in person and was telling him some obviously important things. Then a monkey showed up in between them and began to make a lot of noise. After a while, he could no longer hear what Jesus was saying and guess what? Jesus completely ignored the monkey and continued talking. So he got upset and commanded the monkey to get out of there in the Name of Jesus and the monkey ran off. Then he could hear Jesus again and he asked Jesus why he allowed that. And Jesus said, “You allowed it, you have the power to stop it”. I hope we will all arise today and say no to the ‘monkeys’ in Jesus Name. Say aloud, “I will believe God, I will obey God and I will initiate”. You have God’s permission already.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I let go of what is in my hands and I lift my hands up to You. Lord please change my story completely, in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen!
