Leave It There
Luke 22:41 “He walked away, about a stone’s throw, and knelt down and prayed, 42 “Father, if you are willing, please take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine” [with emphasis]
Many of us have had dreams this year; goals of things we wanted to achieve by the end of the year. But that has not happened. We need to get to a place where we kneel in submission to God, hand it to God and say, “God, let Your will be done”. We might have had aspirations – by now I should have had triplets, or by now I should have had a wife, or by now I should have had a husband, or by now my business should have gone international. But here you are and those aspirations have not yet become a reality. We need to learn to kneel in submission and hand it over to God.
It is when you actually hand over your dreams and aspirations to God that things begin to happen. I am letting you into the secret behind my calm and it is to kneel down and hand it over to God. And when you are done, do not pick it back up; just leave there it with God. Do not try to solve everything; go to God and give it to Him. The challenge with a lot of people is that they go to God, they pray and hand things over to God. But when they are getting up, they pick up the load and take it upon themselves. When you go to God, leave it there. Take your trouble to the Lord and just leave it there. It is beautiful to submit to God and leave it there.
Kneeling to pray is often what gives you the strength to stand. People around you will look at you in amazement because they know all that you have gone through. Because they know that by now you should be battling with high blood pressure or at least you should have been hospitalized. But you will just smile because you have given it to Jesus and He will take care of it. We need to navigate the rest of this year and the oncoming year with prayer. We need to navigate it in the spirit.
In our relationships, most times all we need to do is surrender. Husband and wife, you have been arguing since January, this is December and you are still focused on winning the argument into the New Year? Just leave it because there is no trophy for whoever wins. In a marriage, if one party wins the argument, they both have lost. Nobody wins. Just surrender.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, today I kneel in total submission to Your will. Father, let Your will be done in my life, in Jesus Name. Amen!
