Enjoyment

Ps.63:4I will praise you as long as I live, lifting up my hands to you in prayer. 5 You satisfy me more than the richest feast. I will praise you with songs of joy. I lie awake thinking of you, meditating on you through the night.”

People that actively engage in sports –soccer for instance can attest to the fact that a little rain or a lot of rain, does not affect your passion or the game as the case may be. People that play soccer are familiar with the term “Rain-ball”. Even though everyone is in the mud, everyone is enjoying and loving it. And guess what, it has nothing to do with age. At first I thought that only happens with soccer lovers but when I started playing golf, I found that it is a fruit of enjoying the game –passion. On one of the days I was playing golf, it began to rain on us. I watched everyone on the course and not one person complained. Guess why? Enjoyment!

The reason you are struggling and complaining when it comes to the things of God is simple; you do not enjoy God. I pray that your enjoyment of God will go higher, in Jesus Name. I pray that your spouse will not have to fight you before you pray but that you will seek God out yourself, because of your enjoyment of Him. We need to begin to see the Ten Commandments as a love poem and not as a tyrannical statement. God actually gave us the Ten commandments for our own good. Ex.20:3 You must not have any other god but me.”

When God says, “You are mine!”, it is a statement of love. God is calling you to take the step of commitment because He is God and He is good. God wants to have an exclusive relationship with you. A young man was telling me about a lady he was interested in getting married to. He was doing so much for her and she said she loved him but each time he proposed that they take the next step, she would say she is still thinking about it. As he was talking to me, he got on email requesting for payment for her ticket to Paris.

When he asked me what I thought, my question was, “How long has this been going on?” He said about six months and my advice to him was, “Run for your life – because she does not love you.” God is calling you into an exclusive relationship with Him. He has paid the price for you. You have wasted enough time thinking about it; it is time to say yes!

Prayer: Father, my response to You is Yes. Yes, I belong to You and Yes to an exclusive relationship with You; let my enjoyment of You intensify Lord, in Jesus Name. Amen!
