Supreme

1 Chron.29:11 [KJV] “Thine, O Lord, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O Lord, and thou art exalted as head above all”

In organizations, sometimes people use the boss’ name to get things done. Similarly, in churches people use “Pastor said…” as a prefix to their sentence just because they want to get the advantage, even though pastor did not say that.

Even well meaning people use God’s Name to endorse their ideas. God is not happy with that. A friend of mine came to the house on his return from a prayer- mountain. He told me that God said I was to give him x million naira. He could come to my house, so you know that we were actually close friends.

My response was, “If you had said, my brother I am in this fix. Please give me x amount of money, I would have given you. But since you have put God’s Name in this, until God tells me to do it – forget it!” I am giving you personal examples so that you would not mess up God’s Name. I did not give my friend a dime, not because I did not want to help a friend in need, but because I was ashamed that God’s Name meant nothing to him. God’s Name is not a medium for enriching yourself or to get the advantage in this sense.

I cannot count the number of young men who have told me God said xyz lady is to be their wife. My response usually is, “Really? So, when are you getting married?” And most times, that is the reason they have come to see me, so in other words, I am the errand boy that has to tell the lady what he says God told him. In most of the cases, it would shock you to know that the man has never even spoken to the lady in question. “She is too arrogant!” they claim, but they are willing to marry the arrogant woman. If you are sure the Lord is leading you to a lady, then speak to her yourself, instead of trying to use spirituality to manipulate things. Something is definitely wrong with that.

I know spiritual manipulation works in some places, but not in God’s Favourite House. It is also really interesting that God speaks only about the pretty and wealthy girls to all these men. Be very careful about misusing God’s Name to endorse your own ideas. Ex.20:7 “You must not misuse the name of the Lord your God. The Lord will not let you go unpunished…”

Prayer: Jesus, You are great and powerful, glorious, splendid, and majestic. Everything in heaven and earth is Yours, and You are King, supreme ruler over all, in Jesus Name. Amen!
