Eze.11:20 “So they will obey my decrees and regulations. Then they will truly be my people, and I will be their God.”

Yesterday, we highlighted three categories of people. The first category is people that have suffered abuse from people in authority over their lives.

The second category is people in authority, either in the position of parenting or leadership that have been abusive. The third category is people that are aspiring parents [leaders] that desire to be worthy representatives of God in the lives of the people God has called them to lead [parent].Our focus in devotion today is to re-establish our roots in God, our sufficiency. We will prayerfully align with God and trust Him to make us all that He has called us to be.

The first step is, regardless of the category you are in, talk to God and ask Him for help. Ask God to help you be all that God has called you to be. Pray Ps.138:8 The Lord will work out his plans for my life— for your faithful love, O Lord, endures forever. Don’t abandon me, for you made me.” God will indeed work out His plans for leadership and parenting in your life.

How can you represent a God you do not know or have a relationship with? How can you represent a God you are not walking with? Over the past few days, we have posed this question repeatedly. For this category, the first step is to commit your life to God. Ask Jesus to be Lord over your life and truly surrender to Him. You are before the God of heaven not before any man. In line with His Word in Jeremiah 31:33; Ask God to establish His covenant with you, ask Him to write His laws in your heart and put His instructions deep within you. And according to His Word He says, “I will be their God, and they will be my people.”

I pray that as you surrender to God and you desire to know Him, that God will reveal Himself to you. I pray that you will know the Lord and your life will be totally changed.

For the category of people that have suffered from an abusive parent, open your life to the Balm in Gilead for healing. I pray for everyone that has been hurt, abused or bruised by an abusive authority, that Jesus Christ of Nazareth will heal your wound and help you see Him and relate with Him properly, and your life will bring glory to God’s Name.

Prayer: Lord, You are the Good Shepherd, empower me to be a great leader – to lead with wisdom, love and sufficiency, in Jesus Name. Amen!
