Hold On!

Jer.29: 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. 12 In those days when you pray, I will listen. 13 If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. 14 I will be found by you…”

As we endure, our character grows and develops. With endurance working hand-in-hand with courage, discipline, and vision, you will see your desires come to pass, in Jesus name.

A business is a covenant between men, and scripture tells us that God pays attention to the covenants between men. Even in the business relationship, you require endurance to keep with the agreement. You will be tempted to quit things particularly when they are not going well and sometimes when things are going well. But because you have a vision and a desired goal, it will come to pass, in Jesus name.

Please read and study Jer. 29:1-14. I trust that as you do, God will use His Word to teach, build and strengthen endurance in us and ultimately grow our character. Over the next few days, we will engage some thoughts to help us go deeper in our study and understanding of this bedrock of character. The first thing that jumps out at us from this story is these people were God’s people. The same people that God had given the lands of other nations. But now, they had been captured and taken to Babylon to serve as slaves to a pagan king. They probably would have felt abandoned and probably tempted to quit their faith.

In life, the truth is you will find yourself in situations where you would be discouraged. But you need to develop character and endure. You need to remember what God has brought you through and what God has promised you and it shall be so, in Jesus Name. So, they were tempted to quit their faith because they looked at the circumstances around them and they felt this ought not to be.

The next thing is that even in captivity, God sent encouraging Words to them. God did not abandon them. God told them how long they would be in captivity. What God was saying to them in essence was, it is a season, and you need to go through it. The season will change; the season will come to an end. We need to remember that God is with us and God is for us. We need to allow the Word of God, the promises of God, to see us through such situations.

Prayer: Father, I thank You because You are dependable no matter what the circumstance may be, in Jesus Name. Amen!
