Passionate Fire

Sng.2:15 [TPT] “You must catch the troubling foxes, those sly little foxes that hinder our relationship. For they raid our budding vineyard of love to ruin what I’ve planted within you. Will you catch them and remove them for me? We will do it together.”

There is no legitimate battle between an intellectual faith and a passionate faith. A truly intellectual faith will set your soul on fire! We have to stop thinking we must pick one side. You cannot just stay on the experiential side without engaging your mind. Similarly, you cannot just limit yourself to the intellectual side without getting a real experience. Our walk with God is a love relationship and nobody wants a lover that cannot reason, nobody wants a dumb lover. Similarly, nobody wants a lover that makes him or her feel dumb. If your spouse always makes you feel like a fool whenever you speak to him or her , after a while you will disconnect from him or her.

Nobody wants a lover that cannot feel, and nobody wants a lover that does not set them on fire. For intimacy to happen, the feelings have to be reciprocal. One of the most devastating thing for married couples, is to touch their partners and not get a response. Chances are that he or she will feel disrespected because no one wants a lover that cannot feel and does not set them on fire. Guess what? It is the same with God; God does not want a lover that is dumb, that is why He did not make robots. That is why God gave us a choice, and that is a big deal to God that we choose Him. God treats us with love and compassion because He appreciates the fact that we actually choose Him. So, why would you not appreciate the fact that your wife chose you?

God wants a faith full of fire, not just wild fire but intelligent fire. When God’s objective Word combines with the subjective voice of the Holy Spirit, there is a combustion that leads to intelligent fire. Fire that is sound, but it is fire still, fire that is deep and is fire still, fire that is intelligent but is fire still. Your shepherd knows the correct path for your life, He knows which direction you ought to take and He will lead you [say Amen], in the Name of Jesus. So, why will He lead you, why will Jesus show you the right path for your life and your destiny, why will He go through the trouble of showing you the way to go?

David tells us why in Ps.23:3He leads me in right paths for His Name’s sake” (NRSV, with emphasis). God wants you to know that you will get it right because there is something at stake. In Bible terms, the name concept is more than just a means of identification. In Bible terms, names represent reputation and character. When God says, He will lead you in the right path, He will make sure you do not make mistakes, It is because of His reputation and character.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, lead me, lead my posterity, lead God’s Favourite House in the right paths for Your Name sake and take all the glory, in Jesus Name. Amen!
