I Pray
Rom.8:38 “And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.”
Yesterday, we not only enumerated Paul’s five prayer points from Eph.3:16-19, we also prayed them over our lives by faith in Christ Jesus. Eph.3:16-19 “I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will (1) empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. (2) Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. (3) Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And (4) may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. (5) May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.”
This is my consistent prayer for you. I believe every parent should pray this for their children consistently. I believe every Life group leader should pray this for their members consistently. I believe every minister and every pastor should pray this for their members and departments consistently. And God will answer our prayers in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen! Eph.3:18-19 “And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully.” (emphasis added). The truth is, there is no legitimate battle between intellectual faith and passionate faith. There is no legitimate battle between Christianity that can understand and Christianity that can feel. In fact, God says He wants you to understand but understanding has limits. So beyond understanding, God is saying He also wants you to experience, to feel.
You can experience love beyond your understanding. This is typically when people are unable to explain how they feel. God is saying He wants you to understand His love and knowing the limits of understanding, He then goes ahead to say He wants you and I to experience His love. There are some experiences in God that you cannot explain. People will question your love and service unto God, some will even call you crazy. I pray that your response will be, I cannot explain it. All I can say is taste and see that the Lord is good. All I can do is invite you into the same experiences that I am having in God so that you can know how it feels. Paul did not want to be the only one having such experiences in God. So, I am praying that you will experience it too.
Prayer: Father, I am confident that nothing can ever separate me from Your love revealed in Christ Jesus. Beyond understanding, I will experience Your love daily, in Jesus Name. Amen!
