Divine Guidance
Isa.30:21 “Your own ears will hear him. Right behind you a voice will say, “This is the way you should go,” whether to the right or to the left.”
As children of God, we have the privilege of divine guidance, the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Since we have this privilege, we ought to make use of it. The Holy Spirit can speak to you and guide you on decisions you intend to make. Hear what God has to say before you decide. However, we should not sit-down expecting thunder to strike before we make decisions.
We should not remain in one spot waiting on God to send an angel before we move. The Bible says, as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. Do not be hasty in decision making. Ensure that you have thoroughly considered your Father’s position on the matter. And to the best of your knowledge, you are moving in that direction then you take the step.
The Holy Spirit decides the distribution and appointment of the gifts and that is clear from scripture. You find this in the following scripture references, Rom.12:6; 1 Cor. 12:11 & 28; Eph. 4:7,11. Please read them, dig into these scriptures for yourself, does it corroborate all we have said, check it out for yourself. The Holy Spirit decides their distribution and appointment of the gifts. Every individual has his or her allotted endowment. Yes, you are gifted. Nobody is empty. Even children are gifted. The gift of the Holy Spirit will always uplift the Lordship of Jesus Christ. No one speaking by the Holy Ghost will call Jesus accursed. The gift of the Holy Spirit will always uplift the Lordship of Jesus – always!
Some people may have more than one gift (Please read Rom.12:6; 1 Cor.14:13). In any local church, there may be several people with the same gift (please read Eph.4:11). Can you grow in gifts? Yes, it is possible to receive gifts in addition to the ones you already have (please read 1 Cor.14:13). God says we should covet earnestly the best gifts and ask for gifts if you want. It is up to Him to give you but it means you can get it (1 Cor.12:31 please read). Usually, people that are using their gifts tend to have more and more. People that are burying their gifts, tend to have less and less.
The gifts of the Holy Spirit are not intended for individual personal use (please read 1 Cor.12:7; 14:31; Eph.4:11-16) In fact, they are meaningless if they are not exercised towards others. It is to benefit the Body. Some people desire the gifts for their own personal gain alone. The truth is that when a pipe is carrying water, the pipe cannot be dry.
Prayer: Holy Spirit, as I search the scriptures, let Your gifts burst forth in my life for the glory of Your Name and the strengthening of Christ’s Church, in Jesus Name. Amen!
