Glory Journey
Ps.18:2 “The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety.”
The first doubt buster that Asaph teaches us is, Remember God’s Track Record. The beauty about this is you do not have to dig too deep to access God’s track record. God has a track record in the Bible already. Every miracle in the Bible, as far as I have read, is verified. It is historically proven that it was a Jewish national that invented the pyramids of Egypt and the mathematical dynamics of preserving and embalming a body. This same God took four million people from the strongest nation on earth at the time and He delivered four million.
If one person escaped from the strongest nation on earth, you can call it many things. In America today, if they lock down a family of ten, it will be impossible for them to escape. But this our God delivered four million people; they marched out of Egypt. He caused the red sea to open and they walked on dry ground. It is in the history of Egypt that they had a Pharaoh that disappeared into the Red Sea. God caused the Red Sea to swallow up the Pharaoh. This our God has a worthy track record and enough for me to trust my life to Him. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, were thrown into the fiery furnace and this same God preserved them, they were not burnt.
This same God caused an axe head made of steel that sunk to the bottom of the river to float. And He made wood to sink in the place of the axe head. God has a track record and we can trust Him with our lives. When Jesus died, He trusted this same God with His life. By His Spirit, God raised Jesus on the third day. He did not leave His soul in Hades. Jesus trusted that the Father is able to raise Him again from the dead. This same God is worthy of our trust. If you have ever travelled by air, it means you have trusted man with your life. To doubt God is a slap on His face.
Infact, when we do not believe God for what He says, we have made Him a liar (1 John 1:10). Provision, for instance, is one of the major challenges people have. God says He will supply your needs according to His riches in glory (Philp.4:19). When you doubt your daily bread, God says are you doubting Him? The Jews tried it; they were asking for meat. The Bible says God fed them with meat until it was coming out of their nose. When God is taking you through a journey, it is a journey to His glory. Our statement of peace is our statement of trust. Our confidence that this too will pass, is our confidence in Him that is our Rock and our God. God will take care of you!
Prayer (song): He is able, abundantly able – to the deliver and to save. He is able, abundantly able, to deliver those who trust in Him. Amen!
