Same Power
Rom. 8:11 “The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.”
Jesus is alive and for us, this is worthy of celebrating every single day. Jesus is alive and it is a big deal. John 14:19 “In just a little while the world will no longer see Me, but you’re going to see Me because I am alive and you’re about to come alive!” (MSG, emphasis added). Jesus made this statement on the night before He was crucified. So, we can say because He is alive, we are coming alive. Easter is all about coming alive. The challenge with a lot of people is we sometimes feel like we are in a hard place, we are frustrated, and the basic problem is that we lack power. We lack the power to get ourselves out of the maybe financial, maybe relational, or maybe a spiritual challenge. We lack the power to get ourselves out of the mess.
The truth is that in every human heart, there is this acknowledgment that there is more to life than meets the eye. Different world views offer different sources of power. Different religions offer different sources of power. Some offer leadership power, some offer oratory power, some offer magical powers, and some offer occultic powers. But only Jesus offers resurrection power! Only Jesus has resurrection power. Jesus has resurrection power to offer; resurrection power because He has earned resurrection power. It was not bestowed upon Him, He earned it. Jesus was crucified, He died and was buried. The mistake the enemy made was they thought Jesus was being buried. But as far as God was concerned, Jesus was being planted.
The difference between something that is buried and something that is planted is, the thing that is buried has no life in it. But the thing that is planted has residual life and power in it. That same spirit that raised Jesus up from the dead will raise up every dead situation in your life in the Mighty Name of Jesus. It is the residual life in the seed that makes the difference when you bury a stone and when you plant a seed. The life of the Holy Ghost was present, so Jesus could not have been buried. Jesus was planted and that is huge! It is this same power that we are re-enacting. Phil.3:10 “I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead.” (emphasis added). The word power in this scripture is the word Dunamis. Dynamite comes from the word Dunamis, explosive power. The resurrection power is explosive power.
When a seed is planted, no matter how hard the surface is compared to the strength of the seed, the seed pushes and breaks through. There is power in that seed to breakthrough. They say, when a rocket is launched, compared to the journey of the rocket, the rocket uses most of its power to break through the earth and all the forces that are trying to hold it down on earth. Now, imagine resurrection power in you, nothing will be able to hold you down, absolutely nothing.
Prayer: Holy Spirit, my desire is to experience the incredible greatness of God’s power, the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead, in Jesus Name. Amen!
