The Jew?

John 19:¹⁴ “It was now about noon on the day of preparation for the Passover. And Pilate said to the people, “Look, here is your king!”

Today’s scripture reference is another prophetic occurrence. Jesus Himself was the Passover Lamb and they crucified [sacrificed] Him on the Friday before the sabbath of the Passover week. Hugely prophetic. The reason they broke the legs of the people that were crucified is that they wanted them to die faster and so that it will not roll over into Sabbath. Some people, after being crucified, last for three days, four days and the longest was eight days before they die. But Jesus lasted for six hours; He was crucified on the Passover and He needed to give up His life on the Passover not to rollover to the Sabbath.

John 19:^15-16 “Away with him,” they yelled. “Away with him! Crucify him!” “What? Crucify your king?” Pilate asked. “We have no king but Caesar,” the leading priests shouted back. Then Pilate turned Jesus over to them to be crucified. So they took Jesus away.” (emphasis added). Take note of what the leading priests said because it was a huge statement from them. An average Jew will never say that. Even when the Jews were occupied, they can be subject to tribute, but their tormentor always knew they had a King which was their God. And that they do not pay obeisance to any human king. You can force them, you can put them to hard labour, but they will let you know that Jehovah is their King and Jehovah is their God.

Which was the problem Haman had with Mordecai. Mordecai was a Jew and Haman wanted Mordecai to bow to him. Mordecai did not say he could not bow, he just said, ‘I am a Jew’. What that statement means is, ‘I only bow to Jehovah; kill me if you want to but I only bow to Jehovah.’ Shadrack, Meshach, and Abednego were thrown into the fiery furnace for the same reason. No matter how displaced the Jew is; they were teenagers and in captivity, but when the king said they should bow to a golden image, the summary of their response was, ‘we are Jews, we do not bow.’ The king said, ‘when you enter the fire, you will bow.’ They tied them up and threw them in the fire. The people that took them died. The king saw that the fire did not kill them and in amazement, he looked and said, ‘We threw three people into the fire but there are four walking around. The fourth has a similitude like the Son of God. Bring them out!’ Then he gave an instruction that everyone in the kingdom must bow to the God of Shadrack, Meshach, and Abednego. That is the Jew and that is what the Jewish system portrays.

However, because these leaders were so desperate to kill Jesus, they shouted, “We have no king but Caesar.” The question is, what are God’s people willing to bow to, to achieve their personal agenda? What political system are God’s children willing to bow to, to fulfil their personal agendas? Please read John 19:19-22, read it and God will speak to you in Jesus Name.
