Seed Power, IV

Psalm 118:28 “You are my God, and I will thank you; you are my God, and I will praise your greatness.” (NCV)

Rom.11:33a “Oh, what a wonderful God we have! How great are his wisdom and knowledge and riches! (TLB). Thank God! It has been scientifically proven that when you thank God, it helps your physical health. I do not know all the details, but they say that gratitude affects your blood stream, your defence system, your white blood cells. Gratitude helps your relationships. Grateful people have peace and grateful people live longer. Gratitude changes how you see the mountains. In fact, the mountains no longer look like mountains if you really spend time thanking God. You come out of the place of thanking God wondering why you were fretting about such things.

The mountain may be an exam, a career, a relationship, or it may be a health situation. But when we stay in a place of gratitude and thank God, and thank Him, and thank Him, and thank Him, we begin to see as God sees. Then the mountain can now easily be moved because your perspective has been changed through gratitude. Thanksgiving changes your world view totally. For those that are married, if you are totally grateful for your spouse and your spouse really gets on your nerves and you choose to be focused on what you are grateful for, your perspective about that hurt will change. But most times, couples do not want to focus on the things they are grateful for. They instead want to focus on the hurt and that is what makes a mountain out of the issue. But if you focus on what you are grateful for, the issue will be resolved but perspective will change.

Jesus is saying to us, if you want to move mountains, you have to think big. What is that thing that if it were impossible for you to fail, you will attempt for God? If nothing is impossible for you, what will you attempt for God? Many of the things I am doing today, I had to believe that they can happen even when it looked crazy. If failure were not an option, what would you believe God for? Jesus says think big but start small by planting these mustard seeds of faith. Mustard seeds of listening to God [paying attention], praying [tell God what you need], forgive, and the mustard seeds of gratitude. Then by the time you stand and speak to the mountain, it will move. Why? You are not telling the mountain to move in your strength because thanksgiving has corrected your perspective. Forgiveness has dissolved the mountain in your heart. Listening to God has put you in the right place and prayer has put the right words in your mouth.

So, when you say to the mountain, ‘move’, what happens? It moves to the glory of God. Dr Okey Onuzo shared that there was someone who was raving mad, and it was a demonic issue. Then someone else commanded the demons to go and walked away. After a while, people reported to him that the man was well. He had done his job of giving the Word, planting the mustard seed of faith. The Person to move the mountain will get it done. The problem is people insist on getting mountain sized faith to move mountains that God has said require mustard seed faith.

Prayer:  Father, help me walk in obedience to Your Word, in Jesus Name. Amen!
