Its Time
Ps.1:1 “Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers.” (emphasis added)
Yesterday, we began to look at this scripture and the three things that keep us in sync or take us out of sync with the timing of heaven and Jehovah. The first is The Advice You Take. The second thing is Where You Stand. Where do you stand? Location is the key to promotion because it is where you are planted that determines what flows to you. If the devil wants to mess up a life, he will attempt to make the person shift his or her stand. If he can get the person to shift his or her stand, he knows that it is just a matter of time. The third is Who You Join. Who do you align with? Who do you join? It starts from the advice you take, to where you stand, and that is what determines those you join.
Nothing takes a man out of sync faster than these three things, the advice you take, where you stand and those you join. In our time, the prevalence of media and technology is a good thing but there is a bad side to it. There are a lot of people, young and old, trying to take advice from celebrities who all you see is their public life. These mostly show you their best life but guess what? A number of them usually have a dark side that you do not know. If you know the dark side, you will not take advice from that celebrity. Unfortunately, a lot of people are pressured by celebrity A or celebrity B, the kind of car they drive, or the kind of house they live in, or the kind of people in their circles. So, people want to fashion their lives to these celebrities.
A lot of television shows are shaping lives negatively and leading people astray. I do not have any issue with television shows. The point is some lives have gone out of sync because they needed to do plastic surgery to look like certain celebrities. I used to think plastic surgery was foreign to us, but apparently not. Now when you look at a lady, you need to check if her lips are original. Let us just stay at the lips level without even talking about the other parts of the body. Ps.1:3 “You are like a tree, planted by flowing, cool streams of water that never run dry. Your fruit ripens in its time” (The Voice, emphasis added). When you are planted by the cool streams, there is a time for your fruit to ripen. Different fruits have different cycles.
We often look at other people’s lives and their fruit and we beat ourselves down because we are not seeing the fruit that we expect. Praise God for their fruit, but you need to understand that different fruits have different times that they ripen. Your fruit will ripen in its time in the Name of Jesus. Corn takes about seventy-five days to be ready for harvesting. Cocoa on the other hand takes five years. Now imagine someone with a ‘cocoa destiny’ comparing himself with someone with a ‘corn destiny’. While you should be grateful to God for people that are ‘corn’ and are harvesting quickly, however you need to realize that perhaps your destiny is like ‘cocoa’ and God’s Word says your fruit will ripen in its time, not at corn’s time.
Prayer: Father, make all things beautiful in my life, in Your time, in Jesus Name. Amen!
