Philippians 2:13 “God will continually revitalize you, implanting within you the passion to do what pleases him” (TPT)

1 Kings 19:5-7Then he lay down and slept under the broom tree. But as he was sleeping, an angel touched him and told him, “Get up and eat!” He looked around and there beside his head was some bread baked on hot stones and a jar of water! So he ate and drank and lay down again. Then the angel of the Lord came again and touched him and said, “Get up and eat some more, or the journey ahead will be too much for you.” God’s remedy for fatigue is, eat and sleep and repeat. Did you notice that Elijah was not responsible for the food? Some people go on vacation, and they carry a stove because they believe that buying food is a waste of money. Listen, spend it and eat, God will provide. Call room service. How can you go on vacation, and carry a stove? We see from the scriptures that Elijah was not responsible for his feeding.

Let someone else take care of that – just slept and eat. That is why people go on vacation and return tired. The reason is you are doing things you have no business doing. God says, eat, sleep, and repeat. Do not be under so much pressure to make decisions. When you are tired, you are tired, just back off. There is something they tell Pastors that go to Bible college, they tell them do not quit on Mondays. Why? Mondays are the days that Pastors resign the most. When I read that, I was like wow! Do you know how many Mondays I have wanted to resign? I am sure you are struggling to believe this because you do not think I would ever feel low. Many Mondays when I wake up, I would say to God, ‘I am not doing again! I am tired!

Particularly sometimes, you are fasting, you are praying, labouring for people and they give you some very nasty, crazy attitude. On Monday you are flat out and I say, you know what, I cannot kill myself. Do you know that it is when you are tired, that you are under so much pressure to make a decision? As such times, it is as though something is pushing you to make a decision. It is the devil, tell him, ‘Get out! I want to sleep.’ When you still wake up and the urge is still there to resign. Say, ‘I want to eat!’ When you have eaten, and still feel the push to resign, say, ‘I want to sleep!’ By the time you sleep, eat, sleep, eat, you will be fine again. Fatigue is a dream buster and most times we just need to and have to get rest.

Family, Friends, Fatigue, and the fourth dream deflator is Failure. Sometimes, failure deflates our big dreams. Sometimes people tell me about how they used to be big dreamers. I remember when I first started Pastoring and speaking passionately about some things. And an older Pastor said to me, ‘You are just starting, big dreams!’ He said, ‘Let me tell you, I used to be like before, time will tell’. I resolved in my heart that I will never be like that, I will always, always, always keep dreaming. Isaiah 37:32 “…the zeal of the Lord of hosts shall do this” (KJV)

Prayer: Father, please continually revitalize me, implanting within me the passion to do what pleases You, the follow through on the dreams that glorify You, in Jesus Name. Amen!
