Steward
Ephesians 5:15-17 “So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. Don’t act thoughtlessly but understand what the Lord wants you to do.”
What do you do with what you know? God says, don’t live like fools. We erroneously think fools are people who do not know anything. But God’s word shows us that fools actually know a lot, but they do not do anything with what they know and that is what makes them fools. A fool is someone who knows something but does nothing with what he or she knows. An ignorant person is someone who does not know anything. The person may be ignorant, but the person is not a fool. You can be ignorant in a particular subject, but you are not a fool. However, as soon as you know something about that subject and you act on it, you are wise. But when someone who was previously ignorant gains knowledge about a subject and still does nothing about it, then that person is a fool. God says, do not live like fools but like those who are wise.
Start by paying close attention to how you conduct yourself. Then discern what is right and act upon it. The third thing is, We Must Steward Our Time With Great Caution And Intentionality. Have you noticed that intentionality cuts across everything we do? I must be intentional when I am stewarding my time because my time is a gift. My time is a resource that I cannot reproduce, a resource that I cannot duplicate. I cannot create time; you cannot create time. So, you and I have to see ourselves as stewards. A steward is like a servant. A steward is accountable. We must steward our time and be accountable with our time, with great caution and intentionality. The Scripture says, make the most of every opportunity, why? It is because the days are evil. In these evil days, you have to make the most of every opportunity.
You sit beside somebody that is far from God, someone who does not know who Jesus is. You do not know what is going to happen to the person, nor do you know what is going to happen to you on earth. But you know that whatever happens, you have eternity with God waiting for you. But what will happen to that person? Therefore, make the most of the opportunity, talk to the person about Jesus. An opportunity opens for you in business, seize it, and make the most of the opportunity. Steward your time with great caution and intentionality. One of the dangers of lighting forward and making progress in life is not taking the wrong turn. The challenge is in drifting from the right course. To drift is to move slightly off course and because of how gradual drifting is when it starts, everything appears fine. But as time progresses, the drift becomes more and more obvious. You must steward your time with great caution and intentionality. The fact that anybody can drift is something that should make everybody cautious. Drifting is not about being evil, but the person needs to realign.
Prayer: Father, help me steward my time with great caution and intentionality. Keep me in perfect alignment with You my Father, in Jesus Name. Amen!
