Of Pharaoh
Exodus 2:10 “Later, when the boy was older, his mother brought him back to Pharaoh’s daughter, who adopted him as her own son. The princess named him Moses, for she explained, “I lifted him out of the water.”
Yesterday, we said that in introducing Jesus, God shows us the concept of the star. While the enemy’s three-point agenda is to kill, steal, and destroy, Jesus has come to give us life and life more abundantly. The first way the enemy attacks stars is he puts them off. A star can be quenched, thus the enemy attempts to quench people’s stars through two kinds of spirits. The first is the spirits of Herod; note that it is spirits (plural) and not spirit (singular). Matthew 2:16: “Herod was furious when he realized that the wise men had outwitted him. He sent soldiers to kill all the boys in and around Bethlehem who were two years old and under, based on the wise men’s report of the star’s first appearance.” Imagine the level of brutality, because of one person’s star, the enemy does not mind wasting an entire village. Not only will God protect your star, but God will also protect your life in the Name of Jesus.
The second spirit the enemy works through to attack people’s stars is the spirit of Pharaoh. Exodus 1:15-16 “Then Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, gave this order to the Hebrew midwives, Shiphrah and Puah: “When you help the Hebrew women as they give birth, watch as they deliver. If the baby is a boy, kill him; if it is a girl, let her live.”” The corporate star of the nation of Israel was getting brighter and brighter, and Egypt was afraid that Israel will take over their nation. Some people are friends with you as long as you remain small, weak, and needy. But as soon as you begin to grow big and shine brighter; the brighter you shine, the more uncomfortable they will get, triggering the spirit of Pharaoh in them. The reason they get uncomfortable is because they need to keep you down, but they will fail in the Name of Jesus. Every hand that tries to keep you down will wither totally and absolutely, in Jesus Name.
In spiritual warfare, these spirits are tackled in different ways. God deals with these two star-quenching spirits differently. With the spirit of Pharaoh, for instance, God makes Pharaoh sponsor the same star he wants to kill. Moses grew up in Pharaoh’s house and got free food, free water, and free education. Moses was tutored in military and warfare free of charge by Pharaoh. Every spirit of Pharaoh and everyone operating under such a spirit that wants to extinguish your star (your light), God will use their resources to bless you in the Name of Jesus. So, Moses grew up in front of Pharaoh and Pharaoh could not do anything about it. God can set a table before you in the presence of your enemies, there is nothing they can do but stare. That is how God deals with the spirit of Pharaoh.
Prayer: Father, I declare that it will be impossible for the enemy to put out my light because You are a wall of fire round about me, in Jesus Name. Amen!
