Because… II

Colossians 1:13 “God rescued us from the dark power of Satan and brought us into the kingdom of his dear Son.” (CEV, emphasis added).

And because of what happened at the Cross of Calvary, we are rescued. Yesterday, we looked at the first of the three things satan attempts to use to mess with our lives which is temptation. The other two are condemnation and frustration. However, because of the Cross, you and I can Resist Temptation. Secondly, because of the cross, you and I have the power to Reject Condemnation. I reject condemnation. You have the power to reject condemnation. Colossians 2:15 “…God took away Satan’s power to accuse you of sin, and God openly displayed to the whole world Christ’s triumph at the cross where your sins were all taken away.” (LB, emphasis added).

The power to accuse me, to accuse you of sin is taken out. Will we make mistakes? Of course, because no one is perfect on this earth. Anyone that claims that they are perfect, as their Heavenly Father is perfect, they are reading that scripture upside down. It is not going to happen on this earth. You are going to make mistakes, but guess what? The power to accuse you of the mistake you have made, God has legitimately taken away satan. It was not a secret affair, God openly displayed to the whole world Christ’s triumph at the cross. It was at the cross that your sins were taken away. So, if satan tries to condemn you point him to his open disgrace at the cross and remind him of the victory Jesus secured for you.

So, because of the Cross, I can Resist Temptation and I can Reject Condemnation. Thirdly, because of the Cross, I can Rise Above Frustration. So, the devil tries to afflict, attack, and frustrate people. But because of the Cross of Calvary, in the Name of Jesus, you will rise above frustration. 1 John 3:8 “…For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.” (KJV). The Amplified Classic Version of the Bible puts it this way, “…The reason the Son of God was made manifest (visible) was to undo (destroy, loosen, and dissolve) the works the devil [has done].” Every work of satan in your life is hereby destroyed because of the Cross. Every way satan has tried to frustrate you, you will rise above that frustration in the Mighty Name of Jesus. And because of what Jesus did, because of the cross, you will resist temptation, you will reject condemnation, and you will rise above frustration in Jesus Name.

Prayer: Father, I declare in the Mighty Name of Jesus, that because of the Cross, I resist temptation, I reject condemnation, and I rise above frustration, in Jesus Name. Amen!
