About Your Faith
John 17:9,11 “My prayer is not for the world, but for those you have given me, because they belong to you… Holy Father, you have given me your name; now protect them by the power of your name so that they will be united just as we are.”
We took a break to receive God’s gift for us at Christmas, the gift of His Son. It takes faith (believing) to receive God’s gift for us. It is all about faith, your faith. Luke 22:31-32 “Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift each of you like wheat. But I have pleaded in prayer for you, Simon, that your faith should not fail. So when you have repented and turned to me again, strengthen your brothers.” (emphasis added). I want you to pay attention to this scripture. Jesus revealed that satan asked to sift eleven of them, but Jesus pleaded for Simon. Wait a minute! Satan took permission to sift all the disciples, but Jesus prayed for only one of them. What does that tell you? That tells us that faith is both personal and collective.
If God can take care of ‘the Peters’, then ‘the Peters’ will take care of the rest. And that is how it works. In fact, there was something that the Holy Spirit said to me repeatedly for a season. He spoke to me in Yoruba and said, ‘One good head affects (brings good to) multitudes’. And he showed me different things in different areas. And I see this truth stand out again in this scripture. Bartholomew’s faith was tied to Peter’s faith. Thaddaeus’ faith was tied to Peter’s faith. If Philip was going to do well, Peter must do well. Can you see how these things work? So, when Peter was having his challenge, if Philip had said, ‘It is your challenge, Peter, so you deal with it.’ Philip would have been shooting himself in the foot because as it goes with Peter, so will it be for Phillip. It was too late to say I do not want to have anything to do with Peter, or I do not want to have anything to do with Jesus.
Peter will be strengthened (say Amen). The pack will be strengthened (say Amen). That is how it works. So, all the attack on the other F’s is all about your faith. The attack on your family is not about your family, it is about your faith. The attack on your finances is not about your finances, it is about your faith. The attack on your fitness, your health is not about your fitness (your health), it is about your faith. The attack on your farm is not about your farm, it is all about your faith. So, do not get it twisted, because if your faith does not fail, your family can be rebuilt. If your family is attacked, and you do not lose your faith, your family can be rebuilt.
If your finances are under attack, and you do not lose your faith, you can rebuild your finances. That is how it works.
Prayer: Father, I pray for myself and Your children reading this devotional today that our faith will be strengthened, our faith will not fail, in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen!
