Character & Word

Ephesians 6:13 “Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.”

2 Chronicles 20:17 You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid;

 do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you.’” (NIV, emphasis added). When you stand firm, and allow God to be God, He says you will not have to fight in this battle. You will not have to fight, says the Lord. Stand firm. Do not run. What should you stand firm on? If you are standing firm, you must stand firm on something that is firm (solid). So, what should you stand firm on? I will show you.

2 Chronicles 20:20 “… Listen to Me Judah and people of Jerusalem.  Have faith in the Lord your God and you will be established.  Have faith in His prophets and you will be successful.” (NIV). You stand on who God is. You stand on the character of God. For example, it is impossible for God to lie. That is a character of God. God says I have loved you with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3). What does everlasting mean? It means forever, eternal, never-ending, perpetual, undying. So, you stand on the character of God. It is just beautiful. The second thing is God says believe His prophets and you will be successful. What does that mean? Does it mean you should go looking for prophets? No! Stop all that.

However, God says despise not prophecies. God has spoken to you. You have heard God, hold on to it. For many reading this devotional today, you have heard God even through His Word in this devotional. Hold on to it! God has said you are limitless all the way, hold on to it. God has said you are lifted, hold on to it. God has said restoration it is, hold on to it. Do you know these Words have not expired? Light has come to your life; do you know that Word has not expired? The Word of God does not expire. So, stand on the Word of God. You say but I do not remember any of such. But you have the Bible.

The Bible is a sure Word of prophecy. It has over seven thousand prophecies concerning you and me. Stand on the Word of God. So, you stand on who God is and you stand on what God says (the Word of God). Can you feel that the tide is turning and has turned already? The tide has turned in your favour in the Mighty Name of Jesus. And so shall it be in Jesus Mighty Name.

Prayer (song): He’s turned my mourning into dancing again. He’s lifted my sorrows. And I can’t stay silent, I must sing for His joy has come. Amen!
