Water
Genesis 1:20-21 “Then God said, “Let the waters swarm with fish and other life… So God created great sea creatures and every living thing that scurries and swarms in the water… each producing offspring of the same kind. And God saw that it was good.”
God is saying, water the plants, stay connected to the water of life. Genesis 1:1-2 “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters.” (emphasis added). From creation, water has been in existence. God spoke things into existence into water. Life came out of the water. What I am saying is, your physical existence as a human being is connected to water. Your existence as a spiritual being is connected to water. In fact, they say our bodies are composed of approximately sixty percent of water. Your brain contains a higher percentage of water. But your entire body is sixty percent of water.
The quality of the water in your body determines the quality of the life you live physically. And the quality of the water you have in your body spiritually, determines the quality of the life you live spiritually. The earth, they tell us, is seventy-nine percent water. And guess what? Ninety-seven percent of that water is undrinkable and is unusable to man. Think about it. Only three percent of the water on earth is drinkable. Yet, man depends so much on the water that is so scarce. From a spiritual angle, the Living Water of God is abundant. The physical water is limited and scarce, but the living water is abundant.
Water to your life is so key physically and spiritually. If we have access to water on earth that appears to be scarce because when you look at that three percent, two percent is locked up in ice. Only one percent of the water on earth is actually available to man. Yet, in twenty-four hours, you have to drink water several times. How much more available is the spiritual water that is not scarce? Jesus is the water of life. He is available in abundance. We cannot do without water. The only question is how much water should you drink? Some say to drink five to eight cups of water a day. Some say to drink two litres. Some say to drink five litres of water per day.
And some other people say you do not need to drink water as long as you are drinking fluids. You can drink sodas, tea, coffee, and different kinds of liquid, as long as there is water inside. Some people say you will drink a lot more when your water is flavoured or sweetened. Some will argue that flavoured water has chemicals that can damage your system. So, how much water should you drink and from what source should you drink? The key thing is to stay hydrated.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, I come to You today, fill me up with living water, and water me consistently so that I am never dry or dehydrated, in the Mighty Name of Jesus. Amen!
