Hear. Accept. Produce.

Mark 4:20 “And the seed that fell on good soil represents those who hear and accept God’s word and produce a harvest of thirty, sixty, or even a hundred times as much as had been planted!” (emphasis added).

To engage with the Word that you hear, you need to make it Personal. Next, you need to be Practical. You cannot just say I want to be like Jesus. How? That is why people say they want to be like Jesus and embark on a forty-day fast. And at the end of the forty days, they become nothing like Jesus. Why? It is because they were not practical about it. You want to be anointed, you want to heal the sick, how? Be practical.

The next P to accept and engage with God’s Word is Possible. A lot of us make grandiose plans, and this has happened to me. You want to finish the Bible in one week. Then I got to the Book of Leviticus. When you get to Leviticus, it buckles you down. At least I must have tried it ten times. And every time I get to Leviticus, Leviticus always throws a spanner in the wheel until God showed me a way around it. So, personal, practical, possible, Provable. When we say provable what do we mean? Provable simply means you put a timeline to it. You can prove the concept. You put a timeline. That is what it is to accept the Word, to engage with the Word.

Then the third thing is to produce a harvest. So, we hear the Word, we accept it, that is, engage with it, and then it produces a harvest. Yes, it is God that brings the harvest, but you have a part to play in it. You have to be willing to wait for the harvest and to walk in the harvest. You have to be willing to wait. Sometimes, for some things, you need the strength to wait. And when God brings the harvest, you need strength to walk in it. And I pray for strength for growth for you in the Name of Jesus. Let’s say you want your neighbour to become a Christian, and you are praying for them. You have to be patient. You can’t be praying for them and from day one, you knock on their door and ask, have you accepted Jesus yet? Then day two, I am just checking, have you made the decision? Day three, I don’t want to be forward, but have you crossed the line?

You can’t do that. You have to wait for God to give you an opportunity, wait for God to open a door, wait for a conversation to happen. And when they give their life to Jesus, you have to be willing to walk in the harvest. When people come to Christ, we want to walk away. No, because that is when the work begins. So, you have to trigger growth, trigger the supply and you will have the strength. You need to put yourself in a place where you can hear the Word of God, engage with what you have heard, and then enjoy the harvest by waiting for it and walking in it.

Prayer: Father, as I hear Your Word, I will engage with it, and it will produce a bountiful harvest in my life, in the Mighty Name of Jesus. Amen!
