Timing

Ecclesiastes 3:1 “There is an appointed time for everything, and a time for every affair under the heavens.” (NAB, emphasis added).

Over the next few days, we will be focusing on timing. I pray that God will open your eyes to see as you ought to see, and God will connect you to His Word in a way that only He can. So, let’s humble our hearts and receive with meekness the engrafted Word of God that is able to save us and give us an inheritance among them that are sanctified. We all know that person who always speaks when they are not supposed to speak, and they insist that the truth has to be said. But they are off in their timing. It is not enough to do the right thing; you have to do the right thing at the right time. Timing is so powerful.

The whole creation is synchronized; there is a timing to the rotation of the Earth around the sun. There is a timing to the movement of every member of the galaxy, and if the timing is off, it has a ripple effect. So, the person who says, “but you know I am saying the right thing”. Yes, but you are saying it at the wrong time—you are wrong. So, if you are doing the right thing, but you are doing it at the wrong time, you are wrong. It is not enough to do what is right or to say what is right; you have to do it at the right time. And it is the same for every area. Let’s take dancing, for instance. We all know that person who always dances out of sync with the timing. Interestingly, such people are the most confident sometimes in their dancing. But you can see that what they are doing is off. Yet they are doing it with so much vigour.

If you look at the different aspects of life, it is all about timing; you have to hit the right spot at the right time. In eating, timing is very important. When you are hungry, you have to eat at the right time. And you can apply it to everything else. Timing is so powerful and important. Ecclesiastes 3:1There’s an opportune time to do things, a right time for everything on the earth.” (MSG, emphasis added).

The New American Bible puts it this way, “There is an appointed time for everything…”. I pray in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth that you will walk in your appointed time. I pray that in every sphere of your life, you will move at the right time for every activity. So, the fact that you have an activity does not mean you have the time. You get to an intersection, and there is either a traffic light or a traffic warden. When the red light comes up, you stop. Even if you have a powerful car and your car can move faster than everybody’s car, stop means stop. It is not your time to move. There is a time for everything, and no two people have the same timing.

Prayer: Father, I ask for the enablement to walk in my appointed time, in Jesus Name. Amen!
