Flush Every Excuse

But they all began making excuses. One said, ‘I have just bought a field and must inspect it. Please excuse me.’ Another said, ‘I now have a wife, so I can’t come’ Luke 14:18&20

An excuse is the greatest barrier to opportunity. You cannot be free from what you keep making  excuses for. Every time you come up with an excuse for an unhealthy relationship, you stay yoked in that relationship. Regardless of how great the opportunity God is bringing your way may be you can shut it down with a single excuse. The greatest opportunity that has ever happened to man is the opportunity to dine with the Most High God, but you can shut it down with excuses [Luke 14:18-20]. You can even shut down salvation with an excuse. Your husband is physically abusing you but instead of dealing with it, you come up with excuses in his defense. As long as you keep excusing it, you will continue in the bondage of that baggage. This translates to shutting the door to God’s plan of peace for you. Some of us have people in our lives that are extremely manipulative, yet we keep excusing it. These excuses will keep you bound to their manipulation. We need to flush the excuses we are making for the people that are destroying our lives. Stop excusing the character flaws that you think you cannot live with in that suitor just because you want to get married. Let us assume he does not change, are you willing to live with the flaws? You cannot go into a marriage hoping the other person will change. That is a wrong way to go into marriage. You go into marriage accepting that everything you find belongs to you. Sometimes, we come up with excuses in our own lives [Luke 9:59]. If you excuse bad habits, you will ruin the relationships that God is bringing your way. Excusing bad habits can even cost you your relationship with God. You go late to work consistently and each time you have a genuine excuse. As long as you think you have an excuse, you will always go late. But the moment you flush the excuses, opportunities will open up to you. Excuses, either for yourself or others, can cause you to miss out on God’s plan for you. God has a plan laid out for you, flush out every excuse that stands as a barrier to it today.

Prayer: Father, help me flush out every excuse that I am making that is delaying Your plans for my life. Help me flush out excuses from my life all together, in Jesus Name.
