Un-repentance: Pride & Deception

‘Though the LORD is great, He cares for the humble, but He keeps His distance from the proud’ Ps.138:6.

Another reason why a lot of people find it difficult to repent is pride. Are you too proud to recognize when God is reaching out to you? You see God has been trying to get your attention. He has been trying to use different people to talk to you. God has been using people to speak to you but because of the pride in your heart, you cannot hear Him. So we carry the baggage of un-repented sin. If you are married, the person that God will use to talk to you is your wife. Married men will attest that wives can really talk to you. It is important you get past struggling with why your wife will talk to you in that tone, to getting the message. Our wives can be very accurate, they just drop the word and it will hunt you. You almost want to challenge and bully everyone. But when you are done doing that and you are alone with God, He will say you know she is right. The fact that you are still struggling means that you are proud. You need to ask the Lord to help you with pride. Many times because we are proud, we cannot even see our sins or even repent of them. Pride is a God repellant and is able to blind us. When you spray your life with pride, you repel God [Ps.138:6]. In other words, God is trying to approach you but the smell of pride keeps repelling Him. I am praying that everything that repels God in our lives will be taken out without delay. The third reason why people find it difficult to repent is deception. Eve was deceived by the serpent into thinking she would be like God by disobeying God. The scripture clearly says that obedience makes us more like Jesus. This is also true for many of us today. The reason we don’t repent is because we are deceived into believing that there is a better life on the path of sin. It is called the deceitfulness of riches. People are under the deception that repentance translates to missing out on opportunities. With God there is no loss because He is able to replenish anything we think we have lost. Stop compromising and make a decision to trust God today.

Prayer: Lord, I ask for the wisdom to deal with any form of pride in my life and to see past the deception of the wealth of this world. To strive for all that is pure and true, in Jesus Name.
