Until You Bless Me

‘He was the one who prayed to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and expand my territory! Please be with me in all that I do, and keep me from all trouble and pain!” And God granted him his request.1 Chro.4:10

Oh, that this will be your song to God this season. That this year will not end until you get all that God has promised. Jacob was facing a life threatening situation. He knew that He did not stand a chance against Esau. And Jacob refused to let God go until things changed. ‘Your name will no longer be Jacob,” the man told him. “From now on you will be called Israel, because you have fought with God and with men and have won’ Gen.32:28. Until you are discontent nothing changes. How long was Jabez causing sorrow or experiencing rejection but until he got discontent nothing changed. Read I Samuel 1 & 2. Hannah did not have a child so she was not happy but that was not enough to cause discontentment. Until Peninnah was introduced into the equation. ‘So Peninnah would taunt Hannah and make fun of her because the Lord had kept her from having children’ 1 Sam.1:6. It took a while but Hannah finally got to the point where she was discontent enough to face God and it resulted in change. A lot of people might not see reason with this but I believe that we all need Peninnah in our lives. We need Peninnah that will refuse to let us go until we enter into our destiny in God. Elkanah was a good man but he was dousing her discontent. I am praying that God will remove the influence of every Elkanah that is dousing your discontent. The Peninnah’s will do you good because they will cause you to face God. And let God do that which only He can do. I guarantee you that a few years down the line, you will look back and thank God for Peninnah’s. Yet some of us just want them out of our lives but God is saying ‘they will not leave but you will enter your destiny inspite of Peninnah’. David said ‘You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies [Peninnah]’. For Jabez the Peninnah was his name and it went with him everywhere and resulted in discontent. I pray that the discontentment that is required for us to break through God will release unto us in Jesus Name.

Prayer: Father, help me endure the presence of my enemy so that I can enjoy the table that You have prepared for me, in Jesus Name.
