The Wilderness Experience

‘But just experiencing God’s wonder and grace didn’t seem to mean much—most of them were defeated by temptation during the hard times in the desert, and God was not pleased’ 1 Cor.10:5 [MSG]

The wilderness experience is the second phase in transition. This is the phase where you are waiting on God. God has given you a word or a promise yet you are in the wilderness. I have news for you; you can make your wilderness what you want it to be. The wilderness phase is a place for you to build faith. You have to fill yourself with God’s Word and surround yourself with God’s people. Meditate on what God has done in the past while you are in the wilderness. It is then that you would able to thank and praise God even in the wilderness. This is what David did. He thanked God for conquering the lion and the bear and goliath became insignificant. When you thank God for the things He has done, the giants in front of you become insignificant. This is wilderness faith building. When you are in the wilderness, God is forming and molding you. He is giving you character, teaching you patience, changing your tongue, transforming your appearance, and beautifying you. May the prophecy of God upon your life never irritate you to the point that you will begin to resent and turn your back on God. Be patient in faith, thanksgiving, humility, and in courage. Joshua and Caleb were bold and gave a positive report amidst the ten other negative reports. May God give you that courage to stand out and hold unto His Word. The wilderness is a place of psychological change. The Bible says renew your mind. Read the word and speak the word. We need to cast down every imagination and lofty things that exalts itself above the knowledge of God. When someone speaks something negative around you; you have to confess the Word of God. You have to change your mind. It is also a place for behavioral change. Some of the things you used to do you cannot do them anymore. Some of the things you used to say you cannot say them anymore. Change takes place in the wilderness. It is not a stop gap place; look at it as your formation stage.

Prayer [song]: ‘The Lord knows the way through the wilderness, all I have to do is to follow’. Father, I ask for the grace to follow Your leading through the wilderness, in Jesus Name.
