He Teaches Us
‘But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—He will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you’ John 14:26
The Holy Spirit is the greatest teacher. He is able to teach us everything we do not know. Life is filled with mysteries and every day births new questions. The Spirit of Christ is the only one capable of answering those questions. The greatest teacher is the Holy Spirit. Yet in order to learn from Him, you have to engage Him. ‘But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you’ John 14:26. The Holy Spirit is not just to remind us of that which we know or that which God has taught us. He is to teach us fresh and new things. The Holy Spirit will teach us things that we never knew about the Father and about how to be a child of the Most High. One thing people need to understand is that God is a Father who wants be a part of every aspect of our lives. And if we would just ask His Spirit, He will give us His opinion. If you just started a business for instance, of course you’ll need to read and go for conferences. Yet the person that will connect the dots is the Holy Spirit. The person that will show you what will yield results is the Holy Spirit. The only person capable of keeping two people married and sustaining their joy is the Holy Spirit. He can teach you what to do, regardless of the fix you find yourself in, the Holy Spirit is your teacher. It is a soothing reality, that we can never go totally confused because we have the Holy Spirit. If there is anything you need to do as a believer, you need to cultivate your relationship with the Holy Spirit. There must be something between you and the Holy Spirit that is fresh and ongoing. If you are walking with someone that has all the answers and you don’t ask the questions then what is the value? Ask Him questions and ask Him to teach you. You will find that when you have an ongoing relationship with the Holy Spirit, your devotion time becomes almost a class room experience. The Holy Spirit provides the ministry of the Comforter by teaching us.
Prayer: Precious Spirit of God, teach me what it means to be in a relationship with You. To talk to You and ask the right questions. Teach me precious Holy Spirit, in Jesus Name.
