My Help
1Kings 17:3 “Go to the east and hide by Kerith Brook…. 4 Drink from the brook and eat what the ravens bring you, for I have commanded them….” 5 So Elijah did as the Lord told him… 6 The ravens brought him bread and meat each morning and evening, and he drank from the brook.
It is important that we follow this story and see the clear picture that David is painting for us. Our God is just so amazing. David says in Ps.23:5 “You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies…” [with emphasis]. Note that the feast God prepared was not in the presence of David’s friends and well-wishers. David knows what goes into preparing a banquet; banquets are typically not prepared in times of war when one is surrounded by enemies. Yet David says, He prepares a table before me in the presence of my enemies. Who then are these enemies? Permit me to define the word enemy so that there is no confusion. An enemy is anything that threatens your supply or your safety. Unfortunately for some people their enemy is their spouse, their children, their business, or health, or a circumstance.
Anything that threatens your supply is an enemy. Anything can easily become anyone, and God is not subject to anyone or any circumstance that threatens our supply and safety. God is not subject to all your enemies. In fact, they will all gather and watch you eat to your heart’s delight of the feast that God has prepared for you. God is not subjected to any circumstance; He is not subject to the economy, or to the stock market, or even the job market. God is not subject to the exchange rate, or the bitcoin rate. He is not subject to marital status, or social status. God can set a table before you in the presence of inflation, depression, and recession.
You need to understand that you can be surrounded by recession and be feeding fat. It is in the Bible; David says, “You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies…”, in the presence of recession. However, the key thing is do you believe it? Some people actually believe that because the economy or the world is going through a difficult time, they must go through difficulty. That is your choice, that will not me my story. The Bible says, “they that know their God shall be strong and do exploits.” You can refuse to be subject to the economy of your nation and you will not be subject to it. It is in God’s Word, “You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies…”. Is recession your friend or an enemy? Go back to the definition of an enemy. God says, “I will prepare a place for you in the presence of recession!” Do you believe it, and do you receive it?
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I acknowledge that You alone are my Source and my Help. I am not subject to the world’s economy. You alone determine my supply, in Jesus Name. Amen!
