He Acts On Our Behalf
‘In the west, people will respect the Name of the Lord; in the east, they will glorify Him. For He will come like a raging flood tide driven by the breath of the Lord’ Isaiah 59:19
The Holy Spirit does not only teach us, He acts on our behalf. Remember, the Comforter also means Advocate. The real meaning of the name Advocate in the Greek is a helper, a pleader, a proxy, one who comes forward on behalf and as a representative of another. ‘Oh, please help us against our enemies, for all human help is useless’ Psalm 60:11. The only person that can help you, and you know that the help is sure, is the Holy Spirit. People often say they will stand by us forever but they eventually leave us. The Holy Spirit is our ever present help in times of trouble. The only person you can be sure of is the Holy Spirit. The only place we can be sure we will get help is the presence of the Holy Spirit. And He is the only person that can give us help or is capable of pleasing us. No man or woman can totally please us. So stop putting unnecessary pressure on yourself for what cannot be delivered. The Holy Spirit fulfills the ministry of the Comforter by acting on our behalf whether we know it or not. ‘In the west, people will respect the Name of the Lord; in the east, they will glorify Him. For He will come like a raging flood tide driven by the breath of the Lord’ Isaiah 59:19. Who says that you are going to be wiped away when the enemy comes at you like a flood? Even before you know it the Holy Spirit has raised a standard against the enemy. He accomplishes His function as the Comforter by acting on our behalf, with or without our consent. Because when you are in a covenant with Christ Jesus, you have given your consent already. For some of us there are battles that God is fighting for us that we don’t even know anything about. It is because God is there that is why you can stand amidst the storms. Whether we know it or not, the Holy Spirit is there acting on our behalf. God protects even when we don’t know. Many times we are ungrateful because we do not understand that the ministry of the Holy Spirit as a Comforter is an Advocate that acts on our behalf.
Prayer: Holy Spirit, thank You for always acting on my behalf. It is because You act on my behalf that is why I am comforted. I do not take it for granted, thank You, in Jesus Name.
