Invoking God’s Blessings II

‘Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart’ John 7:38

Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothingJohn 15:5. And we know that the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Christ. Yet there are Christians today who choose to stay without the Holy Spirit. They do not want to heal the sick or prophesy. They do not thirst for the anointing and that is why they do not get it. The truth is that without the Holy Spirit, the Christian walk is a suicide mission. For some of us we are hungry. And there is something about hunger, it is always on display. Jesus said ‘take this is my body, my body is meat indeed and my blood is drink indeed’. The Holy Spirit is the only water that can satisfy you, you can’t rely on anyone to satisfy you. One of the reasons why a lot of marriages are not working is because people are looking to their spouses for fulfillment or satisfaction. Don’t misunderstand this statement; it is possible to get satisfaction and fulfillment from your spouse. Yet, the only person that can satisfy you completely is God [the Holy Spirit]. Wives are agitated and husbands are disgruntled because they are looking to the other person to fill a void that only God can fill. We are not being fair when we want a man to do what only God can do. When you turn to God then you begin to enjoy your marriage. As long as you want to face each other, you pretty much will be exhausted. Jesus promises that living waters will flow from the belly of everyone that believes in Him. There are some Christians that take their own experiences of the Word or current position and attempt to stamp it down. But if we understand and open our hearts to the Holy Spirit, He will fill us. With the Holy Spirit it is not  once filled forever filled. The beauty of the Holy Spirit is that the more you have of Him, the more you will want. He satisfies you but you still want more. Jesus is saying He alone is the source of life and blessing and can meet every of our needs.

Prayer: Jesus, please fill me afresh with Your Spirit. Fill me anew each day until at all that is in me is You Lord, in Jesus Name.
