Give It All Out!

‘Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back’. Luke 6:38

The extent to which you give is the extent to which you will be blessed. The prodigal son left his house on the significant level and ended up on the survival level, in penury. The reason is because he spent everything and gave nothing. This will not be our portion in Jesus Name. Jacob on the other hand left his father’s house on the survival level. Yet this same Jacob returned on the significant level. Jacob gave his time, energy, youth, patience and God rewarded him with great success. It really doesn’t matter how you start. The fact that you start out on the survival level does not mean you will end on that level. The seed of change is in your hands. It is your choice. Many of us focus too much on our disadvantaged beginning. In fact a number of people get stock on blaming their parents for what they did or did not do to contribute to their present state. Are you going to change that or are you going to keep playing the blame game? Forget about the past and make a conscious effort to change your future. The seed for your next level is in your hands. How do I know because God says so in His Word. ‘For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat2 Cor.9:10.  He has given you bread so that you will not eat your seed. But if you eat the bread and eat the seed then you have to accept responsibility for your actions. What you do with your life will determine whether you remain on that level or whether God will take you higher. Your life remains miserable until you give it out to God. ‘If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save itLuke 9:24. Just because of what Abraham was willing to give to God, God made him the father of many nations. When it comes to giving, especially giving to God, don’t hold back anything. Think about it, those things you are holding onto, can they make God richer than He already is? ‘Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and He will give you everything you needLuke 12:31. At the end of the day it is for our good. It is in giving your life away to God that you get meaning in life.

Prayer: Father, thank You for giving me so much already.  May I never hold anything back from You. Lord, make me a giver, in Jesus Name.
