Only The Works Of My Hands I

A little extra sleep, a little more slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest— then poverty will pounce on you like a bandit; scarcity will attack you like an armed robber.Prov.24:33-34

The fourth thing we have to reinforce or learn this year is that God will bless only the works of my hands. It is only the works of your hands that God will bless. God will not bless the dreams of your mind that have not translated to work. Some people are super dreamers, always dreaming. You might have a very big vision but start something because God will only bless the works of your hands. I was speaking with someone who is a really gifted artist but his desire is to work in a bank. And he says to me ‘use your connections and get me into a bank’. As if I am a recruiting agent. As I collected his resume, I tried to encourage him to use the gift God has given him and start drawing. He refused because all he wants is to work in a bank. ‘The Lord will send rain at the proper time from his rich treasury in the heavens and will bless all the work you do. You will lend to many nations, but you will never need to borrow from themDeut.28:12. What God will bless is the works of your hands. What are you doing, what are you bringing before God to bless this year?

A major challenge for us which we have to deal with is laziness [Prov.24:30-34]. You have no business sleeping an extra hour if God has put something in your hands to do and it is undone. Why are you sleeping? I am not saying you should not rest. You have to rest so that you will be productive. People often ask me when I sleep. The reality is that I sleep but it is when you least expect.  The truth is that a lot of us sleep too much. You have a job but God has given you an idea to work on. Your job takes your time but your laziness will not allow you to work on the idea. What you don’t know is that your job has an expiry date. And the reason God has given you that idea is so that when that job expires you can enter your wealthy place. But like the field of a lazy man you have allowed it become overgrown with weeds. I understand that it is not easy but do not play with poverty. It is not your portion.

Prayer: Father, help me get rid of laziness and start working on the idea that You have planted in my heart. Lord bless the works of my hands, in Jesus Name.
