For You
Isaiah 43:4 “You are precious to me, and I have given you a special place of honour. I love you. That’s why I am willing to trade others, to give up whole nations, to save your life.” (ERV)
Mark 8:22-26 “When they arrived at Bethsaida, some people brought a blind man to Jesus, and they begged him to touch the man and heal him. Jesus took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the village. Then, spitting on the man’s eyes, he laid his hands on him and asked, “Can you see anything now?” The man looked around. “Yes,” he said, “I see people, but I can’t see them very clearly. They look like trees walking around.” Then Jesus placed his hands on the man’s eyes again, and his eyes were opened. His sight was completely restored, and he could see everything clearly. Jesus sent him away, saying, “Don’t go back into the village on your way home.” This was Jesus, the express image of the invisible God, yet He took the man out of the village to heal him.
I shared one of my church planting experiences with you in yesterday’s devotional and that is where we will be picking up our discourse for today from. Who has sent me to plant the church? God has sent me. I explained yesterday why I did not engage and dislodge that principality. In this walk, one of the ways to preserve your life is to flow with God. Just flow with God! Some people will insist well on engaging and dislodging the spirit in the Name of Jesus and nothing will happen. If God says you should not, then do not do it. Why? You cannot fight every battle available. You only need to fight the battles that are assigned to you. Jesus was not interested in dislodging whatever was the influential spirit in Bethsaida. Jesus moved the man out of the village and told him not go to back to that village on his way home.
For some of us, Bethsaida could be a spiritual covering we have had. God has brought you out and you are enjoying great spiritual insight by God’s grace. Now you are feeling confident, and you want to go back. God is saying, do not go back to Bethsaida. For some of us, Bethsaida is an old way of thinking we were trapped in. God has shown you a better way, but it is always easy to fall back or to want to go to Bethsaida and show them who you are now. God says it is not important. Do not go back to Bethsaida. It could be an old way of living, God’s instruction to you today is ‘do not go back to Bethsaida’. Jesus will do anything to work a miracle in your life even if He has to give you the second touch. So, I want you to trust God and open your heart to God. For all of us reading this today, God will lay His hands on us.
However, for some of us reading this today, the second touch must start with the first touch and that is committing our lives to Jesus and making Him Lord over our lives. Have you committed your life to Jesus? There is no time like now; the man in the story chose to surrender to Jesus leading him out of the village, spitting on him, to the first touch, and because of this, he experienced the second touch. Just cry out to God and surrender your life to Him.
Prayer (song): Touch me with Your hand, Jesus, Touch me with Your hand, Jesus. I don’t want to go the same way I came. Touch me with Your hand Jesus. Amen!
