Picture It

Gen.13:^14-15,17 “…the Lord said to Abram, “Look as far as you can see in every direction—north and south, east and west. I am giving all this land, ….to you and your descendants as a permanent possession.” Go and walk through the land in every direction, for I am giving it to you.”

Yes, you went to school, and you have your degrees. But what do you want? If failure was not a possibility, what do you really want? If the roof over you and your family is sorted, there is food on your table, and all those things are not a problem. What will you be doing with your life? Force yourself to answer this question. Another tough question you could ask is, what can God do with my life if I am totally surrendered to Him? What can God do with my life if I totally surrender to Him today and say, I no more games. What can God do with my life? Then visualize the results. How does it look? Heb.11:¹ “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (KJV). Faith is substance, faith is the evidence of things not seen. Paint the picture, get a picture book, a vision board. These things I am teaching you, if you wait till the beginning of the year to do it, it is too late. Start now, visualize it.

For some, you may not need a picture book or a vision board, your brain is your vision board. But you have to develop a system of keeping the pictures alive. Which is the next thing, get a system that works for you. Some people have a collection of ornaments that are reminders or points of contact to the different things they have envisioned. Like we said some people need to paste things, what does your marriage look like? Get a picture of you and your spouse holding hands and walking down the street, put it up there. What does your work look like? Paste a picture. That is how to build your dreams. You visualize the end result. Eph.1:¹⁸ “I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people” (NIV). Your heart has eyes, your spirit man has eyes. What you see is very key.

They say seeing is believing, and I know that we say believing is seeing. But to another level, seeing is actually believing. The truth is what you see is what you get. What will it look like? Seeing is believing; visualize the results before it happens. What does it look like? Get tokens, we call it a point of contact, that helps to keep the vision alive. When we wanted to get the land God’s Favourite House headquarters sits on today, we were having challenges getting the land. I went to the land at night with one of my colleagues, and I took the sand. And I took it to my prayer room, and it remained there until we got the land.

Then one day it occurred to me that the location I actually took sand from was exactly where the car park is right now. So, I went back to God and said, it is not finished, we need to extend this land. Visualize it. That is how to take a dream from a dream state to reality. You visualize it. And that was what God led Abraham to do. Abraham went and set up camp there and built an altar to God. In other words, this is where my family and I will live and worship. Visualize it!
