Goals & Teams

Prov.24:3-4 “Wisdom is required to build a house; understanding is necessary to make it secure. Knowledge is needed to furnish all the rooms and fill them with beautiful treasures. (Voice)

After you go after wisdom and stretch your imagination, then you need to Establish Goals. Philip.3:13-14No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.” The New International Version reads Philip.3:14I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” (emphasis added). If you do not have a goal, you will not know when you have achieved it or not. Paul says, I have not achieved it, so I focus on one thing – the goal! Many people stop short of their destiny because they did not keep the goal before them. So, they stop, and they think, I have tried, I have done my own.

You need to keep the goal ahead of you. When the goal is in front of you, if everyone else is saying you have made it, and you know you have not, you keep running. People will ask, why are you working so hard? Why are you stressing yourself? Just relax, some people do not have half of what you have. It is not about what you have, it is about the lives you change. Therefore, you keep working because you need to chase down the goal. And the goal has to be written because if it is not written, the truth is it is not clear. Hab.2:2Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it” (NKJV). What has God shown you, write it down!

Hebrews 11:1Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (NKJV). Faith is substance, faith is tangible. Faith is not vagueness. Faith is not ambiguous. Goals have to be specific, tangible. What are your goals? Simply put, a goal is a faith statement that says by x time I want to achieve y. For instance, by the close of the day today, I want to have replied all my emails. That is a goal. It is clear, it is written down. There is a time to deliver it. By the time I am thirty-five, I want to have won fifty thousand people to Christ. That is a goal. By the time I am forty, I want to have travelled to twenty-five nations talking to people about Jesus. That is a goal. You need to establish the goal. Use the goals card at the back of this devotional.

Get Wisdom. Stretch Your Imagination. Establish Your Goals. And four is so important, you need to Build The Team. You need to build a team for every dream. People that think their destiny is about themselves, only live mediocre lives at best. They are never fulfilled, they are never satisfied, and all sorts of crazy things happen to such people. They may have money, actually, but everyone that will fulfil the greatness that God has for them, everyone that captures a dream must build a team. It is indispensable because there is no great dream that can be fulfilled alone. None!

Prayer: Holy Spirit, help me practice all that You are teaching me, in Jesus Name. Amen!
