Matthew 2:2 “Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east and are come to worship him.” (KJV).
It is clear from scripture that the wise men were not guessing, neither were they asking, “has there been any born King of the Jews?” These men had been on a two-year journey, seeking Jesus. You can say that these people were not Christians, you can also say that they were occultic people. However, the religious people at the time were busy criticizing the woman who did not cover her hair, the man who wore a skirt – busy! The truth is that God will sometimes speak through a ‘donkey’ when the prophet is blind with greed (please read 2 Peter 2:15-16, Numbers 22:27-30). These wise men saw Jesus’ star clearly and they sought Him out. I pray that when God wants to speak with you, He will find you available in the Name of Jesus.
Why is it that sometimes, religious people miss God? It is because they have their own agenda. Every time you let go of your agenda and all you want is Jesus, all you are seeking is to worship He who is born King of the Jews, you will find God. Every time you let go of your plans and all you want is Jesus and His will, you will find God. Light cannot be ignored. You do not need to like the sun, you may even have issues with the sun, but the sun will still shine on your face. The Pharisees did not like Jesus because He was not part of their clan, Jesus came out of a different line, so they were not going to look His way. When Herod asked the leading priests and teachers of religious law where the Messiah was going to be born, they told him in Bethlehem of Judea without checking any books. These people tried to ignore the star.
They knew the prophecies, but when Jesus came, they did not worship Him. Everyone that has an issue with your shine should close their eyes because you are going to shine regardless. Another response is to try to attack the star, which was what Herod did, but he failed. Everyone who tries to attack you will fail. The third response is to benefit and enjoy the star, which is what the wise men did. They came and bowed to Jesus. I pray that you will enjoy the star of God in the Mighty Name of Jesus. It amazes me how some people turn themselves to enemies of the Church, they criticize the Church and everything the Church does. Listen, get yourself out of that group because you cannot criticize The One that you want to bless you.
That was the problem with Saul of Tarsus, he was antagonizing the Church and Jesus said to him, ‘You are kicking against Me!’ and Saul asked, ‘How am I kicking against You, Lord? It is these riff-raffs I am kicking against not You.’ There was discrimination and tribalism in the church in Jerusalem, the church was not a perfect church. Yet Jesus said, to go against the Church is to go against Him. One of the things that destroys people’s stars is going against the Creator of the heavens and the earth. It is a futile battle, you cannot win.
Prayer (song): I’ve come to worship; I’ve come to glorify Your Name. For You are holy Righteous and worthy is Your Name… Amen!
