Ransomed
1 Peter 1:18-19 “For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And it was not paid with mere gold or silver, which lose their value. It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God.”
Sõzõ means to redeem. To redeem means to pay a ransom for. You are a lawful captive, okay? You went into the problem yourself, okay? You sold yourself to the devil, okay? Yet God says, ‘I will pay for you, I will buy you back’ – Sõzõ! If this Word is planted in your heart, even when our parents take us to places and dedicate us to altars, we are not helpless. God is saying to us today, ‘I will come and pay the ransom and rescue you’. Which He paid and it speaks consistently for us today. Sõzõ full spectrum also means to restore. Sometimes, even when you have been delivered, you are still bartered, wounded, and you have lost a lot of things. And most times, we are okay with just being free. But God says, ‘I am not done! I am going to restore to you everything you have lost’, in the Mighty Name of Jesus. Sõzõ, I will restore you.
The difference between two Christians, one thriving, one struggling is the revelation of the Word of God that is alive in their hearts. Two people can see the same situation, one develops high blood pressure, and the other smiles and sings; He will come and save me. He will come and save me. Say to the weary one, your God will surely come. He will come and save me. Two people look at the same situation, one says strengthen your hand and fight like a valiant man, your God will come and save you. But the other person develops high blood pressure, what is the difference? Sõzõ means after God has restored everything, He will protect and keep you safe. No one will be able to harass you again. My grandmother used to sing a song that if you do not know Jesus you will suffer in this life. Who wants to miss out on Sõzõ? No government in this world can offer Sõzõ, none! Only God can give you the assurance of being kept safe and sound.
Sõzõ also means to heal, to make, and to keep whole. When it comes to healing, we are talking about wholeness. It is in the package. If there is rescue in the bread, there is rescue in the crumbs. If there is restoration in the bread, there is restoration in the crumbs. So, why do we struggle, and how come we do not see these things? We will get into that in a few days. But, we need to embrace this first and foremost. Acts 4:9-12 “…Do you want to know how he was healed (Sõzõ)? Let me clearly state to all of you and to all the people of Israel that he was healed (Sõzõ) by the powerful name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene… There is salvation (Sõzõ) in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Sõzõ).”
Prayer (song): Calvary covers it all. My sin and shame don’t count anymore. All praise to the one who has ransomed my soul. Calvary covers it all. Amen!
