Get Equipped

Deuteronomy 7:¹ “When the Lord brings you into the Promised Land… he will destroy the following seven nations, all greater and mightier than you are: the Hittites, the Girgashites, the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, the Jebusites.” (LB, emphasis added)

We are to enter into these mountains not to be what they are but to change what they represent. But our people cannot do it if they are not equipped to do it. Therefore, we need to change discipleship in Church from the gospel of salvation to the gospel of the Kingdom. So that when people go through our discipleship programs, they are better equipped to stand in government, business, education, family, religion, entertainment, and stand in media. We need to change what we call discipleship from being ultimately focused on the gospel of salvation, at the detriment of the gospel of the Kingdom. Of course, the gospel of salvation is always included because without the life of Christ Jesus, we are nothing.

The Good News Translation of Deuteronomy 7:¹ “The Lord your God will bring you into the land that you are going to occupy, and he will drive many nations out of it. As you advance, he will drive out seven nations larger and more powerful than you: the Hittites, the Girgashites, the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites.” (emphasis added). How many nations? How many mountains? Seven. When we look deeper into these nations listed, we see representation in government, business, education, family, religion, entertainment, and media. So, when we are saying give me this mountain, we are moving from the mountain of promise to the mountain of influence. Many people live and die in the mountain of promise. You now have a husband, a cute family, three cars, and you just built a house. Then what?

To be filled with the life of Christ Jesus and released into our destinies, taking the world for Him. We need to transition to the mountains of influence. And God has promised in Daniel 7:²⁷ “Then the sovereignty, power and greatness of all the kingdoms under heaven will be handed over to the holy people of the Most High…” (NIV). Who are the holy people of the Most High? You and I, purely by the blood of the Lamb. So, as a consultant, you should be at peace in your work because you are not lacking. You should be equipped to take the mountain. In government, you should be equipped to take the mountain. Lawyers are not liars; they are mountain takers.

Influence these mountains and you will take the nations. The Kingdom influence of the Church has been limited through statements like, ‘Do not get involved in politics, it is too dirty’. I have been guilty of that. Any Christian who does not make this statement at some point in time, either does not know what it is to be a Christian or does not know what is happening in politics.

Prayer: Father, help me actively transition to the mountain of influence, in Jesus Name. Amen!
