Three-Fold
3 John 1:2 “dear friend, and I pray all goes well for you. I hope you are as strong in body, as I know you are in spirit.” (CEV)
In the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, it will go well with you, and you will be strong in your body. We have been looking at the second enemy of fitness which is Stress. Some people claim that the reason
they are not optimal at work, flat out by eleven in the morning, is because they are not in their “calling”. It is not your “calling”, right? But it is putting food on your table. You better make it your calling, until that “calling” comes. Newsflash, this is your calling right now until the “calling” comes. If it is paying your bills but it is not your “calling”, make it your “calling” until the real “calling” comes. That is if there is a different “calling”. The point is, whatever your hands find to do, the Word of God says, you should do it with all your might (Ecclesiastes 9:10). The first enemy of fitness is Disease.
The second is Stress. You need to rest and de-stress. The third enemy of fitness is Laziness. Proverbs 31:17 “She girds herself with strength [spiritual, mental, and physical fitness for her God-given task] and makes her arms strong and firm.” (AMPC, emphasis added). In the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, you will be equipped with strength. As we see in the scriptures, the strength we are talking about is spiritual, mental and physical fitness for your God-given tasks. You need to be equipped with strength means you need to have spiritual fitness, mental fitness, and physical fitness for your destiny, your God-given tasks. You have to be strong physically, strong mentally, and strong spiritually.
You have to be physically fit, mentally fit, and spiritually fit. And from the diagram, we can see how physical, mental, and spiritual fitness interact. If yoimageu are physically fit and not spiritually fit, it is going to affect your physical fitness. If you are mentally fit and not spiritually fit, your mental fitness is going to be deranged. If you think you are spiritually fit or physically fit, but you are mentally unwell, it is going to affect your physical fitness. That is why some people are depressed. All they want to do is sit down, binge on Netflix, and eat junk food. Their mental fitness has taken a toll. 3 John 1:2 “Dear friend, I hope all is well with you [your spirit] and that you are as healthy [your body] in body as you are strong in spirit.” (paraphrased). In other words, the Bible is saying, that they all work together. You are to be strong in spirit (spiritually), strong in your body (physically), and also in your mind (mentally).
Prayer: Father, please gird me with strength—physical, mental, and spiritual fitness for my God-given tasks, in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen!
